The Granbury Planning and Zoning Commission voted to rezone the southern portion of a platted half‑acre property at 622 North Crockett Street from Industrial to single‑family R‑8.4, making the entire parcel uniformly residential.
City staff said the property is already developed with a residence and is platted; the zoning change would "make the property whole" and would be consistent with the city’s future land‑use map. "We find that the answer to that question is yes," Kira said in presenting the staff findings about the appropriateness of the proposed zoning.
Staff mailed public notice on Feb. 27 to 17 nearby property owners and published notice in the newspaper on Feb. 22; staff reported receiving no letters for or against the request. Commissioners asked no substantive questions of the applicant or staff during the public hearing. Commissioner Hayes moved to approve the zoning change; Commissioner Watson seconded. The motion carried.
The change does not require new utility extensions and staff said it would not materially affect school demand or vacancy rates because the site is already developed and in a residential neighborhood.
