Ouachita Parish board removes interim title for director positions; opens two principal searches

In personnel announcements, district staff removed the interim title from Katie Wheeler and named her director of elementary schools. The board also named Angela Westerberg as director of student support services, replacing Dr. Autry, who will retire in July. The administration said Wheeler and Westerberg will work together over the next two to three months to ensure an orderly transition.
Board staff also announced that the district will open the principalship postings for East Ouachita Middle School and Lakeshore Elementary School; those positions are currently held by interim principals. The board authorized staff to proceed with recruitment for those vacancies.
The personnel report did not include salary details or employment contracts; the board said recruitment and transition work will continue in the coming months.
