The board voted to accept the RFP committee recommendation and award RFP 14-25 (kitchen camera project) to vendor VideoLink for $254,235. Board documents show the RFP committee determined VideoLink to be the highest scoring vendor and the board approved the award by voice vote.
For athletic-field work at West Monroe High School (bid 19-25), the board approved awarding to the lowest responsive bidder contingent on verification that the turf and other specifications meet bid requirements. The board approved permission to bid multiple items including a warehouse cooler/freezer doors project (funded from child nutrition equipment; budget $250,000), the sale of property at 3420 Gordon Avenue (appraised value $17,700; bid requirement at least a percentage of appraised value), the old Burke School property on Highway 139 (appraised value $67,600), and the purchase of 15 school buses (bid 28-25) with a budget of $2,200,000. The board also authorized bidding on West Monroe High School practice-field renovations with a West Washtenaw sales-tax budget of $3,400,000.
Separately, the board approved cooperative endeavor agreements submitted by the legislature allocating $150,000 for West Ouachita High School to build a walking track and $25,000 for West Monroe High School to purchase a mini truck, and authorized Board Chair Mr. Como to sign paperwork allowing the district to accept those funds.
Board staff cautioned that some award approvals were contingent on verification of technical specifications and that certain projects have schedules affected by weather and permitting.
