Acting city liaison Jason Walker summarized supporting documents and the grant history, saying: “it looks like it's $2,500, and it came from the Idaho Community Foundation, Bonner County Arts Enhancement Grant, supported in part by the Gretchen Heller Trust.” Walker said the grant was brought to the city council in April 2017 and that council documents indicated a city match (referred to in the meeting as a CERI/CERA match).
Commissioners discussed options for using the funds, including applying the grant money to permanent downtown fixtures and potential parking-lot art adjacent to the resurfacing project. The commission agreed to form a small work team to generate proposals and present ideas at a future meeting.
