Evansville Land Bank accepts January 2025 financial statements; reports completed 2024 demolitions

The Evansville Land Bank on Feb. 21 accepted its January 2025 financial statements, which showed no recorded income for the month and itemized expenses including building maintenance, subcontractor fees and utilities.
Staff member Jessica Keon told the board the statements included a separate line for maintenance of 401 North Main, now contracted through the Evansville and DeBrick County Building Authority; the total maintenance amount listed was $3,966.28. Keon broke that amount into components: Alpha Energy Solutions ($750 quarterly subcontractor fee), All American Locksmith and Alarm ($270 for card-access repair), housekeeping charges for several months (September–December totals listed) and a prorated August management fee. Keon also reported legal fees ($165), an inspector fee ($2,700), printer/copier charges and utilities totaling $1,342.48 for the month.
Keon explained it is not unusual for the land bank to receive city checks irregularly and that some months show a net loss on the statements. The board was told total assets stood at about $852,000, up from $717,000 the prior year at the same time.
Separately, staff reported that all five demolitions from 2024 were completed by the notice-to-proceed deadline.
The board voted to accept the January 2025 financial statements as presented.
