At its Feb. 21 meeting the Evansville Land Bank voted to accept draft copies of the 2024 audit and tax return so Kemper CPA can prepare finalized copies for the March meeting.
Staff member Jessica Keon told the board that accepting the drafts would allow Kemper CPA to prepare finalized documents; Keon noted accepting the draft does not authorize filing in case issues arise and that Kemper CPA will present in March when the board can formally approve filing. Keon also requested changing a signature line on the return from “Josh Armstrong, president” to her name as secretary treasurer because the president’s office can change.
Board members asked clarifying questions about how the land bank books parcel values and why the drafts were presented now; staff said the treatment of parcel values is a recurring annual caveat on the return.
The motion to accept the drafts passed with all members voting in favor, as recorded in the meeting.
