Evansville Board of Public Safety approves series of contracts, demolition awards and permits

The Evansville City Board of Public Safety on Jan. 22 approved a series of administrative contracts, demolition awards, road closures and event permits, clearing purchases and procedural updates for the fire department, building commission and city operations.

The board approved an updated taxi-driver application, multiple Fire Department service contracts and equipment actions. Fire Department items approved included a service contract with ProAir for maintenance of station cascade compressor systems; authorization to advertise bids for one pickup and four SUVs in the capital improvement program; a testing-and-assessment contract with Public Safety LLC for the department's promotional merit process; a $17,844 Sonitrol contract for security access and alarm monitoring tied to evidence-room upgrades; ongoing maintenance agreements with Tri State Fire for extinguishers, sprinkler and alarm inspection; and the surplus of one damaged swift-water suit that had degraded beyond repair.
