Clifton and staff noted that firefighters conducted a patient assessment and then turned care over to ambulance paramedics. The Mankato Department of Public Safety and the Public Safety Awards Committee endorsed a citizen life‑saving award for Talley for actions that “directly contributed to the effort of saving a person’s life on 10/29/2024,” Clifton said. Talley, who was identified as an assistant chief for the Eagle Lake Fire Department, accepted the recognition.
