Justin Snow, president and CEO of the Roane Alliance, updated the Roane County Commission on the organization's education and workforce initiatives and presented a new report titled "Milestones and Momentum."
Snow highlighted several programs: the 70% by 2025 campaign to encourage postsecondary education, the Connect Rome initiative linking industry and education, student workplace tours at the Roane Regional Business and Technology Park, the countywide middle- and high-school career fair held in April, Pathways to Purpose signing days recognizing seniors' next steps, and the Tennessee Scholars breakfast that honored 107 high-school seniors. Snow said the Roane Alliance also launched a leadership class for youth this year and credited staff and partners for the outreach.
Commissioners asked the young participants in the room to introduce themselves. Snow said Jennifer Brown, the Alliance's director of education and workforce development, produced the report and will follow up with details as needed.
The update was informational; no formal action or funding request was made during the presentation.
