Staff noted the board still would have 30 days to respond to an appeal because of scheduling constraints on board meetings.
The meeting record explains the book-complaint process: a complainant may first raise concerns with a principal; a committee reviews challenged material and recommends whether to keep, move or remove content; if unsatisfied, the complainant may appeal the review committee’s decision to the board within 10 business days.
