The Glen Heights City Council voted unanimously to approve replat case RP-01-25, allowing two residential lots at 130 and 140 Lakeshore Lane to be reconfigured so both parcels can gain access to East Woodell Drive.
Planning and Development Director Parvis Porzizian said the replat is intended solely to provide access. “The only reason this replat is in front of you is, so the property owner can have access to the street,” Porzizian said during the council meeting. Staff recommended approval.
Porzizian told the council the lots are in the platted Lindell Estates subdivision and that Lakeshore Lane currently ends at Woodell; the pavement does not continue south past that point. He said the city has no capital improvement plan to extend Lakeshore Lane within the next five years, though a private developer may choose to extend a short portion at their own cost.
Councilmembers moved and seconded the motion to approve RP-01-25. The motion passed on a 7-0 vote.
The planning item noted an addressing discrepancy in HCAD records: the parcels are listed with Red Oak mailing addresses even though Porzizian said the properties are inside Glen Heights city limits. The council did not take additional action on addressing corrections.
Council approval authorizes the replat to be recorded so the property owner can pursue the street access prescribed by the new lot orientation.
