Board approves Home and Community Care Block Grant allocations for FY2025-26

Dr. Keisha Howe said the county's total HCCBG allocation for FY2025-26 is expected to be $656,167 and that five providers submitted requests. She reported the following funding requests presented to the board: Wilson County Transportation requested $25,000 for general transportation; Wilson County Department of Social Services requested $151,963 for in-home services, consumer-directed personal assistance and consumer-directed financial management services; Wilson Community Improvement Association requested $273,182 for home-delivered meals, congregate meals and transportation. Dr. Howe also presented funding for the Wilson County Senior Activity Center for senior center operations of $175,622; meal-related amounts for the center were discussed but not clearly stated in the presentation.
A motion to approve the HCCBG budget recommendations for FY2025-26 was made, seconded and approved by voice vote.
County staff said they would proceed with the funding distribution consistent with the HCCBG committee recommendations and the conditions of the grant.
