Parks & Recreation to run summer camp at Lingle Elementary; doorbell camera to be added for gym security

Palmyra Area School District’s Parks & Recreation committee reported that its summer camp will be held at Lingle Elementary and is scheduled to begin June 9, with full staffing and no current waiting list.
Committee members said the district has agreed to make Lingle the annual site for summer camp so the program will not rotate among elementary buildings. The committee reported 168 children registered for the summer camp using the Lingle site. Camp organizers said a doorbell with a camera will be installed at the gym door before camp begins to reduce door‑propping and improve security.
The committee also provided registration updates for sport camps: a coed soccer camp is scheduled for June 16–19 with 68 children registered, and a coed volleyball camp is scheduled for July 7–9 with 13 registered as of the meeting; registration deadlines were noted.
Committee members added that the next Parks & Recreation meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, June 18 at 6 p.m. and that they will follow up on Ridge Road planning items raised during the meeting.
