City Council adopts package of measures including sanitation, homelessness and drilling-related items; several procedural votes held

The Los Angeles City Council voted on a package of measures identified as agenda items 16 through 29 and adopted them during its May 23, 2025 meeting at City Hall. Council members also approved a circulated committee report for item 5 earlier in the meeting and referred items 6–12 to the Budget and Finance Committee for further review.

The council convened a series of procedural votes before the final package vote. Members voted 11–0 to refer items 6–12 to the Budget and Finance Committee so staff and the committee could review projects funded from the General Fund before council consideration. Separately, the council took a roll call on item 14, with the vote recorded as 8 in favor and 3 opposed; a member requested that item be called for a separate vote. A committee report for item 5 was presented and the council approved the report and the underlying measures associated with that item during the meeting.
