The New London City Council opened a public hearing on the 2025 Neighborhood Assistance Act tax credit program at the start of its May 19 meeting, heard no public speakers and closed the hearing before moving on to the regular agenda.
Council members then considered and voted to approve the Neighborhood Assistance Act tax credit program at the same meeting. Staff said application materials (IRS Form 990 or comparable nonprofit documentation) were collected for applicants and that several eligible nonprofits applied; a city staff member noted more than 20 private nonprofits would have been eligible but only five applied this cycle.
No public speakers registered to comment during the hearing, and the council approved the program on a voice vote.
