Staff noted the need for planning ahead for Easter, which this year does not fall on spring break and is expected to draw larger crowds; current candy usage averages were cited as about 5,000 pieces on Saturday and 2,000 on Friday for previous events.
Jay reported to the council on the Community Impact Board (CIB) meeting: “we got the the grant was $52.02 92 and the 30 year loan, $209,001.28 at 3 percent,” he said, describing the award and loan terms discussed by the board. Jay also referenced work on a pickleball grant with a March 30 deadline and an opening on March 17 for applications.
Staff said they are continuing to collect vendor bids and contractor estimates for forthcoming grant applications and will report back as applications proceed. No formal motions were taken on these informational items at the meeting.
