Glendale Town Council met Thursday, Feb. 20, 2025, and approved the minutes from its previous meeting, authorized payment of monthly bills, adopted a town employee policy manual, and reappointed a planning commissioner.
The council approved the minutes after a brief clarification about a playground grant. The council then reviewed fund balances the clerk reported: the water fund, PTIF and savings balances were discussed and a $20,000 item earmarked for water repairs was confirmed and moved into the water fund during the session. A motion to accept and pay the presented bills was then made and passed.
The council voted to adopt an employee policy manual that was largely adapted from another town’s document and updated for local practice. Melanie, the town clerk and records officer, was asked to provide copies for council review and for use by staff; council members said they could propose changes at future meetings and the manual may be amended without a public hearing.
The council reappointed Leland to the planning and zoning commission after noting his term had expired in December and he agreed to remain until a replacement is found.
