County Administrator Michelle Gordon said the change was requested by the Board of County Commissioners and that the board supported the language unanimously. A staff member identified as Jonathan confirmed he was comfortable with the bill language.
Senator Cormann moved to move the bill forward; Delegate Baker seconded the motion. The delegation voted in favor by voice; the chair noted that two members had left the meeting and that the motion carried unanimously among members present.
Delegation members expressed support for economic-development incentives and said the bill fit the county's efforts to grow the local economy. The bill will proceed through the delegation's filing process for the legislative session.
