Committee members said the overhaul is intended to remove duplicative language, clarify which organizations may sponsor CE, and create clear paths for a small number of new, narrowly defined CE credits. The package includes provisions that would let RVTs earn up to two hours of CE for performing pro bono animal-health tasks linked to spay/neuter services and allow up to 16 hours for participating as an expert in national exam preparation workshops. The proposal also moves much of the detailed regulatory language into a single statutory framework so future rulemaking can eliminate duplicative regulations.
