Fayetteville City Council unanimously approved on Feb. 10 a staff recommendation to pursue an intergovernmental service agreement (IGSA) with Fort Liberty to provide solid waste services for the military installation and directed staff to return a service-provider contract for final approval.
Assistant City Manager Jody Phelps and city staff presented the proposal as a strategic partnership intended to both reduce Fort Liberty’s operating costs and generate a potential revenue and capacity stream for the city.
