Fremont County designates square dance as official county folk dance

And now we're getting some recognition from the county commissioners, which is really nice," Levy said. She outlined a free community dance on March 31 at the Golden Age Center and a 14-week beginner class beginning April 7.
Larry (vice president) and other club members described square dancing as a social, physical and mental activity that reduces isolation. Laura Rickard, president of the Golden Age Center board, said the center welcomes the club and encouraged broader community participation.
The board moved and seconded the resolution; the roll-call vote was unanimous: Commissioner McFall — Aye; Commissioner Bell — Aye; Commissioner Grantham — Aye. The resolution passed.
