Fremont County grants one-day extension for Marshand Ranch wedding venue temporary permit

Several commissioners expressed frustration that the venue has operated under a temporary permit for nearly two years while pursuing a permanent approval. "Temporary means temporary, and here we are pushing two years on a temporary use permit," one commissioner said, adding that it was "disheartening" the permanent permit had not been completed despite repeated assurances. Other commissioners noted practical reasons for the brief extension, including timing for liquor licensing tied to the event.
The motion to approve a one-day extension to April 26, 2025, carried with the board voting: Commissioner McFall — Aye; Commissioner Bell — No; Commissioner Grantham — Aye. The motion therefore passed.
Planning staff said the applicant recently resubmitted the outstanding items; that resubmittal triggered a 14-day comment period from reviewing agencies. Staff said the package may be scheduled for Planning Commission and then for a future Board of County Commissioners meeting, but no firm date was available at the hearing.
