The commissioners approved payment of county bills as presented and a set of personnel actions including a new corrections officer hire, a transfer of a part-time security guard to a part-time special deputy position, two separations from the jail, and one FMLA leave beginning April 10, 2025 for up to 12 weeks.
Other approvals included a care coordination agreement for Children and Youth Services with Senclair (to preserve HIPAA-compliant referrals and termination rights), a 48-month copier lease for the county jail with DVB at $183.18 per month, and a purchase-of-service agreement with New Life Adolescence LLC. The board also approved engagement of outside co-counsel to pursue an appeal of a Commonwealth funding determination related to human services claiming practices and approved awarding Act 13 funds to Union Township for a bridge project, the board indicating the county would provide a partial payment of $30,000 toward the project.
The commissioners also approved submission of a VOCA (Victims of Crime Act) grant application for the 2025-26 fiscal year; the application lists an allocation of $67,912 for the 10/1/2025'0/30/2026 grant year. The board approved a proclamation declaring March 2025 as Pennsylvania 4-H Week in Clearfield County and invited 4-H members to present to the commissioners.
