Diane, speaking for Bridgeview Inc., described the project as a large metal eagle sculpture by artist Steve Huffman accompanied by landscaping and rock features. She said the total project budget is $88,500 and that the sculpture itself is estimated at about $25,000; Bridgeview reported having some private donations and multiple grant applications pending. Diane said she had provided the board packet materials and photographs to county staff.
Supervisors asked county staff to identify potential funding accounts and suggested adding conditions to any county contribution—such as a return-of-funds clause if the project does not proceed or confirmation of other grant awards. One supervisor suggested placing the item on the next meeting agenda to allow time for research and to see the status of other grant applications. The motion to table the request until the next meeting passed by voice vote.
No county funds were committed at the meeting; the board requested that Bridgeview return with documentation of other grant outcomes and proposed conditions for a county contribution before reconsideration.
