Collierville board approves bank stabilization contract for Wolf River Lateral IA

The Collierville Board of Mayor and Aldermen approved a contract award on March 10 for bank stabilization at Wolf River Lateral IA, the town engineer said.
Dale Perryman described the project location — east side of Lateral IA just north of Red Bend Cove and adjacent to Crosswinds Elementary School — and the planned work: removal of 10 trees, site clearing and grading, excavation, installation of 34 feet of 12-inch plastic pipe, construction of two inlets and related items. Perryman said the item was included in the FY2025 CIP; the original project label in planning materials had been misnamed and staff clarified it is Lateral IA.
Ten vendors requested plans and nine bids were received on February 24. After evaluation, Wagner General Contractors was the lowest responsive bidder at $116,453, roughly $1,596.71 lower than the second-lowest bid. The contract requires completion within 60 days and carries liquidated damages of $800 per day. Perryman noted that a similar drop-in project in 2021 cost about $30,000 then, indicating construction costs have risen.
The board moved, seconded and approved the award by roll call with Miss Marshall, Mister Stamps, Mister Robbins, Mister Hall, Mister Jordan and Mayor Frasier voting yes.
