Collierville aldermen approve Resolution 2025-16 to amend FY2025 general fund and CIP budgets

The Collierville Board of Mayor and Aldermen on March 10 unanimously approved Resolution 2025-16, a multi-part amendment to the town’s fiscal year 2025 general fund and capital investment program budgets.
The resolution recognizes a $5,000 Keep Tennessee Beautiful grant for police overtime related to litter enforcement and makes several capital project appropriations and transfers. Town staff said the motion also formalizes the acceptance of a TDOT grant and associated local match for a road-widening project in the capital program and consolidates remaining project balances into active CIP projects.
Town presenter JP summarized the budget changes: the police department’s $5,000 grant for overtime; use of $68,000 in stormwater assigned fund balance to establish a new Steeplechase Spillway Improvement CIP project and the transfer of a $100,000 appropriation from the Sanders Creek Bank Stabilization CIP to the Steeplechase project, bringing that project’s total to $168,000; appropriation of $100,000 of stormwater assigned fund balance for the Wolf River Lateral IA drop inlet CIP project, bringing that project total to $150,000; appropriation of $175,000 of general fund unassigned fund balance for the signalization of Highway 72 and Sycamore Road, bringing that project total to $285,000; and appropriation of $765,574.04 in TDOT grant funds plus $55,089.63 of general fund unassigned fund balance as the local match for the Shelby Drive widening CIP. If adopted, the finance department said it would reflect an additional $1,163,663.67 in the town’s capital investment program budgets.
JP told the board that staff were available to answer questions about the amendments. Vice Mayor Stamps clarified for the record that he does not review or approve Keep Tennessee Beautiful grant awards to avoid any conflict of interest.
The resolution was moved and seconded on the record and approved by roll call: Miss Marshall, Mister Stamps, Mister Robbins, Mister Hall, Mister Jordan and Mayor Frasier all voting yes.
The budget amendments take effect immediately for accounting purposes and will be reflected in the town’s financial records and project budgets, according to staff.
