The Regional School District 15 Board of Education approved two formal motions during its March 10 meeting: approval of the Feb. 24, 2025 meeting minutes and approval of a summer 2026 foreign field trip to Costa Rica.
Approval of minutes: A motion to approve the Feb. 24, 2025 regular meeting minutes was moved by Heather and seconded by Steve. The board voted in favor; the minutes were approved.
Costa Rica trip: The board approved a summer 2026 foreign field trip to Costa Rica, scheduled for July 6–14, 2026. The motion — "Move that the board of education approves summer 2026 foreign field trip to Costa Rica, July Sixth, 2026 to 07/14/2026 as presented" — was moved by Heather and seconded by Shannon. The board approved the trip by unanimous voice vote.
Trip details presented to the board noted the travel provider historically used by the district (EF), the trip cost is lower than other offered foreign trips this year and space is currently available. The district said the trip is open to students generally (it is not limited to language‑class students) and that participants must purchase required trip insurance.
What it means: Both motions passed by voice vote with no recorded dissent. The Costa Rica trip joins previously discussed international trip options (France and London) as another summer 2026 offering for students.
