IT Director Chad Morgan explained the city currently uses a wireless bridge at the transfer station and has installed servers and equipment; the new contract with Sandel Communications will formalize a permanent service point at the facility. Morgan said cameras and some outside work remain, but interior systems and servers are ready to be commissioned.
Commissioners voted to approve the director's authority to sign the contract; staff said there is no immediate cost to the city for the connection shift, and the move will support upcoming operational work at the transfer station.
