Board names Poudre Learning Center classroom for John and Delia Haefley

The Greeley Evans School District 6 Board of Education approved a recommendation to name a classroom at the Poudre Learning Center (PLC) the Haefley Classroom for Excellence.
A committee convened and reviewed nominations and survey responses. Jim Butterfield, PLC coordinator, described the Haefleys as longtime district educators, volunteers and philanthropists who have supported the PLC and broader community through service and a named opportunity fund. The committee reported an overwhelming positive response to the proposal.
Butterfield told the board the couple had created the Delia and John W. Haefley Opportunity Fund through the Success Foundation and had supported PLC programs and governance. "John and Delia Haefley have made extraordinary and lasting contributions to the Poudre Learning Center in District 6 and the Greeley community," a committee summary stated.
Board members praised the couple's community work and the recommendation passed unanimously, 6-0. Voting recorded: Director Azari — Aye; Director Bentley — Aye; Director Campos Spitzy — Aye; Director Masch — Aye; Director Matthews — Aye; Director Sullivan — Aye.
The district will finalize signage and plan a community recognition event at the PLC.
