• Move the traditional conference/mandated training day to November 7 and designate it as a mandated training/remote work day for teachers (staff must complete required state trainings by the end of the calendar year).
• Shift the January 16 conference day to February 6 on the adopted Hybrid B calendar so the day aligns with third‑nine‑week progress reports and allows parents to receive progress information and meet with teachers at a meaningful time.
• Retain built‑in makeup/weather days in May but remove one of the spring built‑ins (committee to finalize which date); committee members indicated they prefer to keep multiple possible weather days so playoff travel and testing scheduling can be accommodated.
• For 4‑day Option A, the committee left the full Mardi Gras week off (consistent with prior 4‑day communities’ preferences) but discussed mirroring calendars to reduce community confusion where feasible.
After debate the committee moved to accept Hybrid B with the changes discussed; the motion carried by voice vote. The committee also accepted 4‑day Option A as presented. Committee members said they would circulate final, annotated calendars to the full board and confirm that PD and conference logistics align across calendar options before the Thursday board meeting.
No final change to the academic year length was made; committee members emphasized that testing windows, pupil‑progression deadlines and state‑mandated training deadlines framed many of their decisions.
