Council approves consent calendar, intergovernmental agreements and board appointments

Councilor Nishioka read the items on the consent calendar, which included: an intergovernmental agreement with the state of Oregon to allow legislative assembly use of State Street in exchange for compensation; an agreement with the Oregon Department of Administrative Services and the Oregon State Fair Council for the Silverton Road Northeast Improvement Project; approval of the Fairview Park Development and Management Plan; approval of the Fisher Road Park Development Plan; and recommended policy statements to guide Salem’s federal and state agenda during the 2025 Oregon legislative session. The council approved the consent calendar by roll call.
Separately, the council approved appointments and reappointments to the Hospital Facility Authority Board and directed staff to schedule interviews for three applicants for the Ward 5 seat on the city/URA joint budget committee after a third application arrived following the appointments committee meeting.
Council members pulled two consent items for discussion (3.2a and 3.3f) and later addressed them individually. Council recorded the approvals by roll call.
