Policy manual update — first reading: The board heard a first reading of the 3,000-series manual updates to board policy. Staff said the packet incorrectly listed 27 policies for review when the correct number is 34; 9 policies are recommended for repeal and 25 revisions are proposed. Staff pointed to more substantial revisions for policy 33 (school calendar and time for learning) and policy 3430 (school improvement plans). One policy (3228/7328, use of personal technology to conduct school business) was placed on “hold” for further review.
Consent and procedural votes: Early in the meeting the board adopted the agenda, approved the personnel agenda and approved the consent agenda by voice vote. Those routine approvals were recorded in the meeting minutes by voice vote.
