Transportation and operations staff told the board the two‑bus purchase is part of the district’s ongoing fleet rotation to replace older buses; the district budgets for bus purchases each year but reviews needs annually. Technology staff said the laptop buy replaces roughly half of staff devices issued in 2021 and will be phased to complete replacement next year.
The board also approved travel requests that included FFA, DECA, FCCLA and other groups for regional and national competitions. District leadership described a new equity approach to funding national conference travel: the district provides either $5,000 per group or $800 per student—whichever is smaller—to balance support among student organizations that travel with different group sizes.
All procurement and travel motions passed by unanimous roll calls.
