MIDDLETOWN — The Middletown Township Board of Supervisors approved a package of measures at its March meeting, including routine financial approvals, land-development action for Neshaminy High School, advertisement of the township’s 2025 road program, and several capital and maintenance contracts.
The board approved the consent agenda by a 5–0 vote. Consent items included authorization to pay a bills list dated March 10, 2025, totaling $1,496,322.88; approval of February and March meeting minutes; a financial security release (No. 2) for site items at Stone Farms SLD No. 15-8 in the amount of $2,721,304; and appointment of Joseph Bagley as hearing officer for a Police Tenure Act matter. The motion to approve the consent agenda was made and seconded and carried 5–0.
The board granted amended preliminary/final land development approval for the Neshaminy High School athletic facility renovations (SLD No. 21-08, 2001 Old Lincoln Highway) after a presentation from the project team. Conditions attached to the approval require full compliance with Middletown’s subdivision and land development and zoning ordinances and resolution of outstanding review comments. The motion to grant the amended approval was made by Supervisor Corporal, seconded, and passed 5–0.
Other approved items (each by 5–0 votes): - Authorization to execute Musco Sports Lighting purchase and Armour & Sons Electric installation contracts for LED retrofit at Community Park (total $1,050,000). - Authorization to solicit bids for the 2025 road program (budget $500,000) covering milling, overlays and roadway repairs on North Flowers Mill Road, Big Oak Road and an alternate for Bridal Drive. - Authorization to contract with Concepts and Concrete for replacement of the North Station firehouse floor (4,840 sq ft quartz flooring system) for $59,629; funding includes an RDA grant contribution of $46,939 with the balance from the firehouse fund. - Authorization to hire consultant Roseanne McGrath (McGrath Consulting) to assist with recruitment of a new township manager and to proceed with a 30-day posting and candidate review schedule; Assistant Township Manager Nick Valla was recommended as interim manager beginning mid-May.
Each motion was made, seconded and approved on voice vote with no recorded nay votes. The board recorded its votes on the meeting record; all listed motions carried 5–0.
The board accepted staff presentations and associated conditions for approvals; outstanding plan-review comments and standard ordinance compliance remain conditions for final plan sign-offs.
