The Brentwood Beer Board unanimously approved on March 10 a transfer of an on-premises beer permit to CN Brentwood LLC for the Homewood Suites by Hilton Nashville Brentwood at 5107 Peter Taylor Park Drive.
The transfer, prompted by a change in ownership of the existing business, drew brief questioning from commissioners about how the hotel verifies patrons' ages and whether staff use electronic point-of-sale methods to flag underage customers.
Jay Brown, a representative of CN Hotels, attended for the applicant. James Elson, manager for the Homewood Suites property, told the board, “They have the, the book, the ABC book to verify,” and added, “We don't have anything in the property management system to electronically capture this.” Commissioner Liddell urged the applicant to consider electronic ID-capture tools and warned that “the city of Brentwood would be pretty strict if there's a violation.”
There were no members of the public who spoke during the meeting's public comment period. Earlier in the meeting the board also approved minutes from the Oct. 28, 2024, beer board meeting by unanimous voice vote.
A commissioner moved to approve the permit transfer and a second was recorded; the motion passed unanimously and the board issued the beer permit to CN Brentwood LLC. The meeting adjourned shortly afterward.
