Clemmons communications director lists spring events, limb pickup and outreach success; Creek Week activities highlighted

Lynette Fox, the Village of Clemmons marketing and communications director, briefed the council on March 10, 2025, about the village's spring events, operational services and outreach results.

Fox said limb pickup has resumed and will continue through November before leaf-collection season begins. She listed community events including a Shamrock scavenger hunt on the greenway, a spring medicine drop at the Clemons Fire Department on James Street on March 24 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Wheels and Squeals on April 12 at Morgan Elementary from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., and Clemons Community Day with the farmers market on March 26. Fox said the village will also participate in Forsyth Creek Week, which the council proclaimed for March 22–March 30, 2025; she reported that the countywide program lists about 170 events.

Fox also reported results from a recent direct-mail outreach campaign that directed residents to a QR code for village communications: "We have had 439 scans of that QR code," she said, and copies of the postcard were available for council members to distribute.

Fox encouraged council members and residents to participate in two walk audits planned for March 15 (9 a.m. and 1 p.m.) and again on March 22 (two walks) to assess crosswalks and other safe-street needs; she noted staff and consultants will lead the walks. She also said bulk pickup will start March 17 for the west side and March 24 for the east side, and a shoreline-kit giveaway will be available March 27–28 at Public Works.

Council members asked no substantive follow-up questions during the report.

No formal council action was taken; the report was informational and staff will continue promoting events and follow up on logistics.
