Danielle, who led the application, told the court the grant covers infrastructure improvements including kayak and bike racks, wayfinding signage to connect Jamestown Trail Town to Greasy Creek, benches and small exercise stops along the route. “I received a contract and we got the full $30,000,” Danielle said.
The court noted that additional local funding—reported in the meeting as roughly $5,000 from county and partner receipts—brings the available budget to about $35,000 to begin site improvements. The grant must be spent in full by June 2026, a constraint the court discussed while urging prompt project implementation.
Why it matters: the grant seeks to strengthen trail‑town connections and encourage recreational and tourist use of local assets. Court members said they will help coordinate maintenance responsibilities and work with state agencies on site matters such as the Army Corps and Fish and Wildlife, which have been consulted regarding ramp and park status.
