Clemmons council adopts ordinance supplement, proclaims Forsyth Creek Week; routine minutes and agenda approved

The Village of Clemmons Council on March 10, 2025, unanimously adopted Ordinance 2025-01 enacting and adopting Supplement 26 to the village Code of Ordinances, approved the minutes of the previous meeting and the evening’s agenda, and issued a proclamation declaring March 22–March 30, 2025, as Forsyth Creek Week in the village.

Clerk Short described the ordinance vote as a procedural step to codify actions already adopted into the clerk’s office record and the online code. "This is a procedural action. You all have already individually adopted these ordinances for the Clemmons code. When I send them off to be codified, that's when they send the supplement back," Clerk Short said.

A council member moved to adopt Ordinance 2025-01 "enacting and adopting Supplement 26 to our Code of Ordinances as presented." Another council member seconded the motion. The council voted "Aye" and the motion carried unanimously.

The council also approved the minutes of the February meeting and accepted the agenda as presented by voice votes recorded as unanimous.

Mayor (unnamed) read a proclamation recognizing Forsyth Creek Week and encouraged residents to participate in related activities. The proclamation called on citizens to help protect source waters and practice water-conservation measures during the weeklong event.

These items carried with no recorded opposition, and the council adjourned after routine council comments and a round of acknowledgements.
