The Valley County Board of Commissioners recorded several formal actions at its March 10 meeting.
- Meeting minutes: The commissioners moved and seconded approval of the Feb. 24 meeting minutes; the board approved the minutes by voice vote.
- Transfer station contract: Commissioners approved signing a notice of award and contract for transportation transfer station improvements with Galley Bridal Construction (see separate coverage). Motion: "I would move that we sign a notice of award and contract for the transportation transfer station improvements with Galley Bridal Construction." Outcome: approved by voice vote.
- Department of Commerce ED Pro grant: County staff notified the board that the Idaho Department of Commerce offered Valley County an additional $5,000 for the West Central Mountains Economic Development (ED Pro) program. Commissioners approved amending the ED Pro agreement to accept and pass through the additional $5,000 to the West Central Mountains Economic Development Council to help cover director salary costs. Motion: "I will make a motion that we end the ad pro agreement with our department of commerce for additional funding of $5,000." Outcome: approved by voice vote.
- Idaho First Bank rental agreement for elections: The clerk’s office presented a rental agreement for use of Idaho First Bank’s community room for elections at no charge; the agreement had been routed through the prosecuting attorney’s office. Commissioners approved the agreement. Motion: "I would move that we approve that agreement with Idaho First Bank for community room rentals for elections." Outcome: approved by voice vote.
- Valley County EMS district and Idaho Power judgment: The county packet included an email from Treasurer Johanna DeFord concerning a judgment for the Valley County EMS district tied to Idaho Power. County legal/staff advised the commissioners the payment is the responsibility of the EMS district that was in existence when the taxes were collected and recommended payment from EMS-district funds. Commissioners moved to make payment out of the EMS district fund to satisfy the judgment; the motion carried. The exact judgment amount is referenced in the packet but was not clearly stated during the verbal motion on the record and is therefore recorded here as not specified in the spoken transcript; staff referenced the packet for the amount.
All above motions were recorded in the transcript as moved and seconded and passed by voice vote; individual roll-call tallies were not recorded in the transcript.
