Dallas committee recommends adopting 2023 National Electrical Code with local amendments

At a City of Dallas code committee meeting, members voted to recommend adopting the 2023 edition of the National Electrical Code, with a set of local amendments staff presented.

The recommendation matters because the changes update the city's adopted code cycle, align local license definitions with state regulators and add or remove amendments that affect inspections, receptacle rules and how interconnected power systems are counted for emergency capacity.
