Committee forwards 2025 capital carryover amendment and accepts January financial report

The General Government Committee on March 10 approved forwarding a 2025 capital improvement plan carryover budget amendment to the full board and accepted the county’s January 2025 financial report.
Finance staff member Cecilia told the committee that the carryover request transfers remaining project budgets and contingency funds from 2024 into 2025 so projects in process retain available funding. Commissioner Pulaski moved to adopt the staff recommendation to forward the amendment to the full board; the motion passed unanimously.
Cecilia also presented the January 2025 financial summary. She said one‑twelfth of the annual budget would benchmark at about 8.4%; the county’s expenditures were at roughly 9%. Revenues compared to a three‑year average were 2.7% versus a benchmark of 2.6%. Cecilia said the apparent higher expenditures largely reflected a three‑pay month in January and payment of annual service contracts and that the figures were not cause for concern.
Commissioners moved to recognize the financial report; the committee approved the motion unanimously.
