The facility’s budgeted census for January was 181; actual census was 176, representing 5.1 bed days behind budget. The director said the lower census accompanied an increased number of short-term Medicare stays and that admissions and discharges in January and February were roughly double the monthly counts the facility saw in 2024 — evidence, she said, that changes to admission and discharge processes are having an effect.
Accounts-receivable days rose to 59 (the department’s stated goal is 54), and cash on hand was estimated at 21 days after accounting for a $3.6 million amount that the facility expects to repay to Medicaid. The director said the 21-day figure assumes no incoming revenue and all current expenditures continue; she described the level as on the low side but historically within range.
The facility reported 59 admissions and 54 discharges in January and 41 admissions and 37 discharges in February. Management noted an MOE projection showing $168,000 earmarked for a bond interest payment in November.
Commissioners received the financial report by motion.
