The Valley County Board of County Commissioners approved several routine items on March 10, including execution of a state recreational-boating safety (RBS) funds agreement, approval of claims and a roll-call vote to enter executive session.
Sergeant Kevin Turner presented a yearly agreement with the Idaho Department of Parks and Recreation that directs RBS funds (from the U.S. Coast Guard via IDPR) to the county. The agreement amount presented was $55,279; a motion to sign the IDPR agreement was moved and seconded and the board voted "Aye." Sergeant Turner told commissioners the funds help pay deputy salaries for boating inspections and enforcement.
Earlier in the meeting commissioners also moved and seconded to accept the meeting claims, including a listed payment to Rockwell Automation Inc. for $10,592 noted in the claims packet, and a separate item described as one junior college tuition claim; both motions were approved by voice vote.
Near the end of the open session the board voted to convene an executive session under the transcript reference "area code 742061" (motion and roll-call recorded); the clerk called the roll and commissioners voted to enter executive session.
Actions at the March 10 meeting did not include any ordinance adoptions or final policy changes; most were contract or claims approvals recorded on the consent/claims docket.
Ending
The board returned to open session at an announced approximate time after the executive session (time recorded in the minutes). No additional formal legislative items were adopted during the open session portion beyond the items above.
