House adds research hires, extension specialists and targeted higher-education grants

The subcommittee also approved a mix of transfers and one‑time planning funds, reductions tied to underutilized summer programming and reassignment of a center for rural prosperity from the university system to the Department of Agriculture pursuant to committee direction. The higher-education panel recorded a motion and voice vote to pass its recommendations.
