District staff presented enrollment projections for the coming year and ongoing enrollment activity.
Administrators said elementary enrollment is projected at about 196 students for next year in grades K–6 and that district‑level enrollment is trending upward with additional students enrolling in recent days. Staff reported transfers from IQ Academy (a sister K–12 school in Fergus Falls) and noted a February cohort of newly enrolled students beginning mid‑month.
Officials said cohorts and rolling enrollment can affect in‑year counts; the district indicated a physical classroom capacity constraint for certain sites ("we only can physically hold 25 within our physical space"). The district expects another cohort to start on Feb. 18 and said staff continue to process transfer enrollments between cohorts.
Separately, one administrator reported districtwide enrollment at 1,225 students, of whom 780 were full‑time as of the mid‑year count. Board members and staff said enrollment numbers will continue to fluctuate until the next cohort and urged continued outreach and processing to capture transfers.
No formal board action was taken; the board received the enrollment presentation and asked staff to continue reporting updated counts as cohorts begin.
