The Forest Lake City Council on Jan. 13 accepted two resolutions formalizing private donations for city programs: one accepting gifts for the 2024 bridge-lighting event and another accepting a donation from Community Helping Hand for the 2024 "Shop with a Cop" program.
Mayor Blake Roberts read the list of donors for the bridge-lighting resolution (resolution 01132503) and the council approved acceptance by voice vote. Donors listed in the staff presentation included Jesse Johnson State Farm Insurance; Mara and Jason Bain; Leif and Chelsea Erickson; A-1 Auto; Olson Sewer Service; Gone Companies; Security State Bank of Marine; Forest Lake Ford; Wendy Richley; the Lions Club of Forest Lake; Johnson & Turner Legal; Lakes Floral Gift and Garden; Roberts Family Funeral Home; Fred's Wholesale Tire; and Twin City Dock.
The council also accepted resolution 01132504, accepting a donation from Community Helping Hand for the 2024 Shop with a Cop program. Both motions were seconded and approved by voice vote.
No financial totals or terms were discussed during the meeting; the council accepted the donations by resolution and expressed gratitude to the donors.
