The Hurricane City Planning Commission approved the final site plan for Southern Utah Sheds, a retail establishment proposed for 980 West Street (FSP 25-05). Rachel Rastison is listed as the applicant.
Staff explained that the remaining outstanding item was a landscaping plan and an application for an exception/deviation from landscaping standards tied to the temporary nature of part of the business. Staff offered to meet with the applicant to explain required submittals; the applicant acknowledged she had placed the request on the site plan but had not provided the written documentation staff requires for a deviation request.
Commissioners approved the final site plan subject to the applicant meeting staff and JUC comments, with the explicit direction that staff would help the applicant identify and prepare the required written statement and landscaping documentation. The motion to approve passed by unanimous voice vote.
Next steps: The applicant must meet with planning staff to submit the written description and landscaping plan showing the requested deviation and how the intent of the chapter is being met. If staff and the applicant cannot resolve outstanding items, the application would return to the commission for further review.
