The Hurricane City Planning Commission approved an extension of the preliminary plat for Sand Hollow, a proposed 673-unit multifamily development at 4000 West Sand Hollow Road. The extension was requested to allow completion of certain road work before the applicant files the first final application.
Commissioners said the project had been on the books since last year and that the developer was waiting for a related road (referred to in the meeting as “pit roads”) to be finished before moving to final approval. Bridal Mabry is listed in the public record as the applicant; the commission acknowledged Carl (staff/agent) during the vote.
The extension motion was made and seconded; commissioners voted in favor with a unanimous voice vote. No conditions beyond the standard staff review were recorded in the meeting minutes for this extension.
The extension preserves the developer’s preliminary approval while the remaining off-site or enabling work is completed. Staff did not raise outstanding substantive objections during the discussion, and commissioners did not record any dissent.
Votes at a glance: Motion to approve extension of preliminary plat, item PP24-01 — moved by a commissioner, seconded, approved by voice vote.
What happens next: With the extension in place, staff and the applicant can proceed toward filing the first final application once the referenced road work is complete.
