Commissioner Mann told the Feb. 12 work session that Beaver County received nearly $440,000 in conservation project awards from the Shapiro administration for local projects, including a roughly $440,000 award for Brush Creek Conservation District work and about $34,000 for North Fork Little Beaver Creek projects.
The county solicitor previewed about two dozen resolutions on the near-term agenda and highlighted several items to be considered at the upcoming voting meeting. The solicitor said a three‑year lease with Saint Barnabas — intended to allow the county to move stored items into that space — is expected to be on the end‑of‑month agenda. Other items mentioned included work by Michael Baker on county GIS services, a contract to replace boilers at the Human Services Building, a facade improvement project in Ambridgeboro, a $138,000 grant for the victim‑witness program, an agreement with the detectives association changing the captain title to assistant chief, and repairs at Brady's Run Park.
The solicitor also requested an executive session to discuss a litigation matter. No of the previewed resolutions were formally voted on during the Feb. 12 work session; the solicitor said the full set of resolutions would be available when the agenda is finalized.
