Tredyffrin‑Easttown board approves consent agenda and first‑reading policies, votes 9‑0

Tredyffrin‑Easttown School District Board of School Directors voted unanimously to approve the consent agenda and to accept two policies on first reading at its regular meeting Feb. 24, adopting both actions by a 9–0 voice vote.

The consent agenda was approved without discussion. Vice President Tete reported a community gift included on the consent agenda: Sue Ellen Larkin donated three Conestoga yearbooks (2010–2012) and two Valley Forge yearbooks (2006–2007) to the Conestoga High School library; the vice president said the books are valued at $300 and will be cataloged as an archive. The board’s recorded result for the consent agenda was “Ayes have it. 9 0.”

Separately, the board approved two policies on a first‑reading basis and scheduled them for adoption at a future meeting. The policies the board approved for first reading were Policy 1125, “Complimentary admission to events,” and Policy 8080, “Acceptable use of technology.” Policy committee chair Susan Audrain summarized that the complimentary‑admission policy was revised to clarify how qualifying individuals obtain free admission; the acceptable‑use policy was updated to address district use of drones.

The motion to approve the policies was moved and seconded and the board again recorded a unanimous vote, “Ayes have it. 9 0.” No board member requested separate discussion of either item during the meeting.

Board solicitor Ken Roos announced that the board had met in executive session immediately before the meeting regarding potential identifiable litigation compliance. That announcement was made in compliance with the Pennsylvania Sunshine Act.
